EDM Creating Platform
About the product
Designing a B2B platform is challenging due to the lack of available references, as many contain sensitive company information. To address this, I mapped the platform to widely used products, finding that EDM design is similar to web design.
I drew inspiration from web design sites like Wix.com and Squarespace, integrating these ideas
within our website's constraints. Additionally, I used my background in Human Factors and Psychology to ensure the platform is user-friendly and intuitive, focusing on simplifying interactions and cognitive tasks.
How to design an EDM?
Users with varied experience
My job is to guide those unfamiliar with EDMs in creating one. An EDM is like a digital poster with images and links to attract customers. While designing an attractive EDM requires graphic skills, with proper guidance, even beginners can create one.
I aim to make the EDM platform accessible to both novices and design teams.

3-section platform
The platform follows a left-to-right flow:
templates on the left, preview in the center, and editing on the right.
This layout matches the platform’s design pattern;
otherwise, I’d use a larger preview area and a simpler design.

Make spaces with design
Clean layout, clear mind
With a platform packed with essential graphical information, space is a limited asset.
To address this, I've incorporated intuitive interactions and natural mapping
to reduce users' cognitive load while maintaining a clean and aesthetic layout.

Visual Hierarchy
Buttons, color, and element placement were deliberately designed to guide users
when creating an EDM.
With so much information on the platform, it's essential for users to clearly understand
which part of the EDM they are controlling.
The trashcan button is placed above the contents to control the entire block,
while the "確定" button is within content cards to control individual contents.
Background color, publish, and preview actions are placed in the central section
to control the entire EDM.
Overcome and adapt the limitations
As mentioned earlier, many design decisions were influenced by factors like existing systems,
design patterns, and development schedules. Adapting to these constraints and focusing on
making minimal yet impactful changes highlights a product designer’s ability
to problem-solve and drive progress.
